James “Jimmie” Roy Larkin of Laurel Hill departed this life at the age of 82 on April 12, 2024.
He was born July 7, 1941 in Scotland County, NC, son of the late Harry Franklin Sears and the late Mamie Butler. Jimmie enjoyed helping on the chicken farm and worked in the textile industry with J.P. Stevens for many years until retiring. He served as a member of Peele’s Chapel Wesleyan Church. Jimmie loved hunting and fishing, going to flea markets, and was an avid NASCAR racing fan. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family and friends. Jimmie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by brother, Harry Sears.
James is survived by daughter, Lorie Lorenzo Medlin of Anniston, AL; grandchildren, James Garrett Pinkley (Lacey) and Logan Nathaniel Gilreath; and great-grandchild, Eden Trinity Pinkley; along with his many friends.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park. A time of visitation will be held prior to services from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the funeral home.
