Patsy Ruth Black Huskey, age 75 of Atmore, Alabama after a courageous battle with cancer peacefully passed away at her daughter’s home in Laurinburg, NC on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.
Patsy was the loving daughter of the late Curtis and Helen Baker Black born March 30, 1942 in Century, Florida. She recently lost her husband of 51 years the late Billy Douglas Huskey. Patsy loved her job in the grocery business. She especially loved laughing and cutting up with the customers she served for over 30 years before retiring from Winn-Dixie at Atmore, AL. She was a wonderful cook and poured herself into caring for her husband, family and others her entire life. Even in her last hours, she conveyed how much she loved her family and refused to pick a favorite. She also made us laugh to the very end.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Huskey and brother, Billy Gene Black.
Patsy leaves behind her children, sons, Tommy Huskey (Denise) of Norfolk, VA, Ronnie Huskey (Christy) of Atmore, AL, William Huskey (Haley) of Atmore, AL and daughter, Leslie Chandler (Gary) of Laurinburg, NC; brothers, Frank Black (Betty) of Morgan City, LA, Curley Black of Cantonment, FL; sister, Judy LeRay (Henry) of Patterson, LA; twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two more expected soon. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at First united Methodist Church of Atmore, AL at a later date.

Celebrating the life of Patsy Ruth Black Huskey
Thank you for signing Patsy Ruth Black Huskey's Guestbook
I am so sorry for your loss. May the God of All Comfort be with you during this difficult time. I have personally found comfort in the promise of 1st Corinthians 15:26 where it states that soon death will be brought to nothing. Then we will have the prospect of being reunited with our loved ones right here on earth(John 5:28,29).
I truly hope this brings you comfort and peace. My deepest sympathies for you all
