Mary Elizabeth Kersey Galloway



Mary Kersey Galloway, age 83 of Laurinburg passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Wagram Church of God officiated by Rev. Ricky Brewer and Rev. Harry Clark. Burial will follow in Laurinburg Memorial Park.

Mary was a daughter of the late Steve Lane Kersey and Annie Beatrice Peele Kersey born in Scotland County on November 19, 1934. She was the loving and devoted wife to the late Ralph Galloway. She retired from Toastmaster after many years of service. Mary served as a member of the Wagram Church of God. She loved sharing breakfast with her many friends each morning at McDonalds. She was a wonderful southern cook who enjoyed Sunday dinners with family. She enjoyed gardening, mowing her lawn and in younger years fishing with her brother, Billy. Mary loved her family and her many wonderful neighbors.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, S.L. Kersey, Curtis Kersey, William “Bill” Kersey; sisters, Reba Johnson and Ruth Goodwin.

Mary leaves behind her daughters, Ann Earlene G. Marlow (Terry) of Falls Church, VA, Debbie G. Volz (Brian) of Rixeyville, VA, Susan G. Foster (Vincent) of Charlotte along with her seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Friday, at the Wagram Church of God, 21741 McKay Street, Wagram, NC
