Vera Mae Oxendine Revels



Vera Mae Oxendine Revels, age 70 of Maxton passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8th at the Youth for Christ Holiness Church conducted by Rev. Clarence Sanderson and Rev. Kenneth Bryant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Vera, loving daughter of the late John L. and Carrie Mae Fields Oxendine was born February 24, 1948 in Lumberton, North Carolina. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family as a homemaker and retired after many years of service with Hardees in Maxton. Vera faithfully served the Lord and was a member of the Youth for Christ Holiness Church. She enjoyed working puzzles, sewing, arts and crafts and especially sharing time with her grandchildren. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, wonderful mother and grandmother, devoted sister, aunt and friend.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Purnell “Buddy” Oxendine.

Vera Mae leaves behind her loving husband of 51 years, William Revels, Jr., of the home; her sons, William Jeffery Revels, Jimmy D. Revels (Karen Revels), Gary P. Revels, Glenn E. Revels, Robert Santini Revels, Lindsey Adam Revels and daughters, Gloria A. Revels, Loretta L. Jones (William Jones); brothers, Timmy Oxendine, James Oxendine, Jessie Oxendine, Leslie Oxendine; half brother, Jackie Hunt; sisters, Margaret Locklear, Carol Jacobs, Pauline Hunt; fifteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7th at the Youth for Christ Holiness Church, NC Hwy 71, Maxton, NC.
