James Earl Oxendine



James Earl Oxendine, age 82 of Rowland passed away to his heavenly home on Monday, March 5, 2018.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Beulah Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Roger Adkins and Rev. Earl Deese. Burial will follow in Oxendine Family Cemetery.

James was born on November 30, 1935 in Robeson County a son of the late Robert Oxendine and Lucy Tyler Oxendine. He worked for many years at McNair Dehydration Plant in Laurinburg. He faithfully attended Beulah Baptist Church. He loved fishing, working in the garden, studying his Bible and witnessing for the Lord. James was a dedicated husband, father and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his son Eugene.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Myrtle Oxendine; brothers, Robert Lee Oxendine, Hallman Oxendine; sisters, Dorothy Locklear, Willo Dean Strickland and Muriel Oxendine.

He leaves behind, his son, Eugene Oxendine (Kimberly) of Rowland; siblings, Clavin Oxendine and Nellie Hunt of Rowland and Betty Brooks of Pembroke; several nieces, nephews and a host of other extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8th at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
