Kevin Charles Hunt



Kevin Charles Hunt, age 54 of Gibson passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kevin was born October 1, 1963 in Levittown, Pennsylvania, a son of Lucy Mae Hunt and the late Glidis Charles Hunt. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and loved his career as an art teacher with the Hoke County School System. He attended Northview Harvest Ministries and the Elevation Church in Concord. Kevin was a talented artist and musician who loved painting and playing his guitar. He had a passion for helping others, especially giving care and encouragement to the sick and challenged children. He enjoyed skateboarding and one of his greatest joys was Cosplay and comics. Kevin was a wonderful husband, loving father and a devoted brother who loved sharing time with his family.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a special cousin, Sebrina Grimes and niece, Desiree Lockey.

Kevin leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years, Jackie Major Hunt of their home; sons, Benjamin “Ben” Charles Hunt (Chip) of Concord, and Ian Michael Hunt (Laura) of Boone; his mother, Lucy Mae Hunt of Laurinburg; brothers, Jeffrey Hunt (Diane) of Pennsylvania, Darryl Hunt (Cathy) of Wagram, Christopher Hunt (Claire) of Georgia; sisters, Denise Locklear (Earl) of Wagram, Jennifer Lockey (Dean) of Laurel Hill; a host of nieces and nephews and many loving friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14th, at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be at a later date.

The family requests in lieu of flowers for memorial donations to be given in Kevin’s memory to the Northview Harvest Restoring Hope Center, or Kevin Hunt Mission Fund.
