Obituary

Virginia Dare Jackson Dutch, age 93 of Laurel Hill passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018.


Virginia, a daughter of the late Archie Douglas Jackson and Minnie Theo Gaddis Jackson was born March 30, 1924 in Marlboro County, South Carolina. She was the loving wife to the late James Thomas Dutch, Sr. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, watching her favorite game shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.

Along with her parents and husband she was is preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Diane Dutch Kitchens; sisters, Sarah Jane Jackson, Christine Brigman, Bessie Smith, Martha Jackson, Minnie “Sissy” Cole and brother, James “Bud” Henry Driggers.

Virginia is survived by sons, James Thomas Dutch, Jr., John Franklin Dutch (Sheila Kay) both of Laurel Hill and daughter, Virginia Ellen Dutch Franklin (Robert Franklin, Jr.) of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Mincie Ellen Maynor (Mark), Melanie Bristow McCallum (Jason), Tammy Bristow Murray (Tommy), Jesse Alfred “JJ” Hardee, Jr. (Teresa), John Franklin Dutch, Jr., James Thomas Dutch, III (Mandy); great grandchildren, Jessica Diane Dunn, Benford Boyce Forbis, III, Cody Allen Parker, Katlin Chavis Sanders, T.J. Hardee, Tray Dutch, Nicole Dutch, Kaitlyn Dutch, Bryan Lee, Misty Crouch; great-great grandchildren, Kason Forbis, Blake Sanders, Karlee Sanders; a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Pastor David Shoemake. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
