Clayton “Clay” Wright, Jr., age 54 of Laurel Hill passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel conducted by Pastor Kenneth Blease and Rev. Mitchell Roller. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Clay, a son of Clayton Wright, Sr. and Patsy Sibbett Wright was born on July 4, 1963 in Scotland County. He was the loving husband of 31 years to the late Lisa Joy Pope Wright. He retired from the National Guard and was the plant manager for Enterprise Corporation with the Brown Creek Correctional Institution in Polkton. He was talented in sheet metal fabrication and a welder by trade. He loved helping children in every way and enjoyed coaching football and softball for Scotland County Parks and Recreation. His favorite times were those spent with his family and friends. Clay was a loving and dedicated husband, son, father, grandfather and friend who will truly be missed.

He leaves behind his son, Clayton “Trey” Wright, III, and daughter, Jessica Danielle Wright, both of Laurel Hill; parents, Clayton Wright, Sr. and Patsy Sibbett Wright; brothers, William Steven “Steve” Wright (Renee), Joey Wright (Michelle) and sister, Susan Wright, all of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Brinley Blakely, Hayden Blakely, Candon Blakely; his nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10th at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
