Obituary

Mrs. Etheleen Wallace Lane, age 97 of Rowland passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018.

Etheleen, the daughter of the late Henry Watson Wallace and Vergie McDaniels Wallace was born December 10, 1920 in Robeson County. She was the loving wife of the late Albert Monroe Lane, Sr. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family as a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and flower gardening. Etheleen was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Rowland where she enjoyed working with various groups within the church especially in bereavement and Vacation Bible School. She also served as a member of the Eastern Star in Rowland.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Dottie Lane.

Etheleen leaves behind, her son, Albert “Al” Lane, Jr. (Barbara) of Laurinburg and daughters, Linda Reaves (George K.) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Ann Cain (J.D.) of Lumberton; grandchildren, Alan Lane (Sandy), Pamela Lovin (Brian), Travis Hardin (Nancy), Sandra R. Mercer (Miles), Tina Wiggins (Keith), Mike Reaves (Wendy) and Tracey Hamilton; twelve great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends.

A Memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 15th at the First Baptist Church of Rowland, officiated by Rev. Thomas Allen. A time of visitation will follow after the service on Sunday at the church. A private burial will precede the service in Rowland Cemetery.
