Willie Douglas “Willie D” Locklear, age 76 of Laurinburg passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Light of Truth Holiness Church, officiated by Randall Strickland. Burial will follow in the Locklear Family Cemetery.
Willie D was born September 8, 1941 in Scotland County, the loving son of the late Fuller Locklear and Isella Strickland Locklear. He retired after many years from his business in sheet rocking and construction. He was a member of Light of Truth Holiness Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and was a lover of animals. His favorite pass time was spending time with his family. Willie D was a great all around man who was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Michael D. Locklear; daughter, Katrina Locklear; brother, Fuller Locklear, Jr.; sisters, Annie Lee Locklear, Alma Lee Locklear and Katrina Locklear.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Christine Bullard Locklear of the home; sons, Mitchell Locklear (Crystal), Robert Locklear (Stephanie) both of Maxton; brothers, Ernest Locklear (Alma Jean), Thurman Locklear (Marie), Fuller Locklear, Jr., Carey Locklear (Crystal), Barry Locklear; sisters, Isadora Clark (Donald), Reginia Colson, Jean Marie Locklear, Alma Sue Locklear; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; mother in law, Sallie Mae Locklear and a host of loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

I am so sorry for your loss. May the God of All Comfort be with you during this difficult time. I have personally found comfort in the promise of 1st Corinthians 15:26 where it states that soon death will be brought to nothing. Then we will have the prospect of being reunited with our loved ones right here on earth(John 5:28,29).
I truly hope this brings you comfort and peace. My deepest sympathies for you all
