Tammy Anita Cox



Tammy Anita Cox, age 49 of Gibson passed away after a long illness on Saturday, January 27, 2017.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Twin City Memorial Park, Loris, SC.

Tammy was born August 19, 1968 in Scotland County, the loving daughter of the late Thomas and Juanita Sasser Cox. She was dedicated to her work as a traveling registered nurse and served as the head nurse for the county jail. Before her illness, she served as a member of the Maxton Pentecostal Holiness Church. Tammy loved her family and sharing time with each of them. She also enjoyed traveling and caring for her K9 friends.

She leaves behind her sons, Kyle Blackburn (Tabatha) of Clarendon and Evan Blackburn (Miranda) of Lumberton; her special friend, Steven Wayne McKenzie of Gibson; brothers, Thomas “Timmy” Cox of Charlotte and Kelvin Cox of Maxton; grandchildren, Chason Guner Blackburn, Ryan Blackburn, Bentley Blackburn, Hunter Blackburn, Nevaeh Blackburn, Gage Blackburn and Lilly Blackburn.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31st at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

Memorial donations may be given in Tammy’s memory to the Humane Society.
