Floyd Richard Locklear

Mr. Floyd Richard Locklear of McColl, South Carolina passed to his Heavenly home at the age of 84 on February 26, 2026.

Floyd was the son of the late Willie and Eva Jacobs Locklear born September 20, 1941 in Robeson County, North Carolina.  He was blessed to marry the love of his life, Katie Nell Locklear on October 1, 1965 sharing 60 devoted years together and raising their family in a loving Christian home.  He was a successful contractor owning and operating Locklear’s Construction Company from 1980 until his retirement.   

He loved attending church and served as a faithful member of the Purvis Independent Baptist Church.  Floyd enjoyed his time fishing for spots at the beach, rabbit hunting, raising his chickens, visiting the Flea Markets, and especially talking with his friends.   Above all, he loved his family and cherished spending time with each one, especially his grandchildren.   Mr. Locklear will deeply be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, James Davis and Martin Jacobs.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Katie Nell Locklear of their home in McColl, SC; four sons, Randy and Ann Locklear of Laurinburg, NC, Ray Anthony Locklear of McColl, SC, James and Jacqueline Locklear of Bennettsville, SC, Allen Locklear of McColl, SC; his daughter, Katie Katherine Locklear of McColl, SC; adored grandchildren, Jerry James of Brunswick County, NC, Jonathan Locklear and Jeremy Locklear both of Laurinburg, NC, Derek Norris, Haley Norris, Jameson Locklear each of McColl, SC, Devin Locklear and Bryson Barfield both of Bennettsville, SC; great grandchildren, Emberly Locklear, Avalyn Locklear, Knoxsyn Norris and Me’lani Norris; along with a host of loving extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel followed by burial in Rogers Cemetery.   A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
