Delmea Lowry



Delmea Lowry, age 85 of Raeford passed away on Monday November 27, 2017.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Pastor Phil Pierce and Pastor David L. Bullard. Burial will follow in the Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Delmea was born on August 18, 1932 in Robeson County, a son of the late Cobert Lowery and Agnes Chavis Lowery. He worked in the logging business serving many years with Foster Williams Timber Company and retiring from Currie Logging. He served as a member of the Church of God of Prophecy of Aberdeen. One of his favorite pass times was fishing. He loved his family and will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, Cliffton Lowery, Mildred Bullard, Mandy Revels and Herbert Lowery.

Delmea is survived by his son, David Lowery (Annette Locklear) of Raeford; daughters, Tresia Cummings (Tony) of Raeford, Missie Saunders (Bruce) of Raleigh, Lisa Saunders (Ernest) of Robbinsville and Vonnie Stone of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Ervin Lowery of Kansas City, KS; sisters, Vonnie Locklear of Eagle Springs, Junita Clark of Raeford, Myrtle Locklear of Aberdeen; fifteen grandchildren, Justin Lee Saunders, Evan Rin Saunders (Molly), Brandi Lowery, Jamie Lowery, Lakisha Locklear, Lance Locklear, Janet Locklear, Antwinette Locklear, Jonathan Lowery, Brian Lowery, Stephanie Cummings, Anthony Cummings, Micheal Woods, Shyane Woods, Dakoda Woods; twenty-three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29th at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
