Louise Deaton Ammons



Mrs. Louise Deaton Ammons, age 90 of Laurinburg passed away to her Heavenly home on Monday, May 28, 2018.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Mike Price and Rev. LeGrand Taylor. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Louise was born March 21, 1928 in Robeson County, a daughter of the late Willie Deaton and Mary Griffin Deaton and the loving wife of the late John D. Ammons. She retired after 28 years of service with Springs Mills Industry. She was a faithful member of Cross Pointe Church. Louise enjoyed reading her Bible, woodworking with her late husband J. D., fishing at the beach and participating with the women’s auxiliary. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will truly be missed.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Hedy Ammons Taylor; brother, Benjamin Griffin and sister, Ruby Hardee.

Louise leaves behind her sons, Gray Ammons (Ruth Ann) of Laurinburg, John Scott Ammons of Lumberton; daughter, Sheila Ammons-Jackson (Gene) of Gibson; special niece, Frankie Stone; special grand, Ashley Smith and Ellen Vereen; grandchildren, Hannah Bates, Grayson Ammons, Jonathan Jackson, Madison Jackson, Anita Taylor, Kristine Rosenow (Tim), Phillip Sevores; great grandchildren, John Ammons, Jessica Ammons, John Bates, Elizabeth Taylor, Aurora Jackson, Leia Jackson, Chas Rosenow and four great-great grandchildren, Ethan, Aubrey, Jaxson, Heydon and a host of loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30th at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
