Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Taylor Snead, age 86 of the Sneads Grove Community passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.

Dorothy was the youngest of thirteen children born on February 5, 1932 to her loving parents, the late James and Eliza Ann Taylor. She retired after 30 years with Southern Bell and then worked as a teacher’s assistant with the Scotland County School System retiring after 10 years of service. She was a faithful member of Sneads Grove United Methodist Church where she enjoyed her work with the ladies groups of the church. Dot loved sharing time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchild. She also enjoyed traveling with each of them. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, a loving grandmother, sister and friend.

Dot leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Everette “Lester” Snead of their home; her daughters, Phyllis Ann Williford of Laurinburg, Carol Thomas and husband Stewart of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Amanda Hagler Morris (Blake), Andrew Bryan Hagler, Ryan Alexander Williford, Colton Reid Williford, Step grandson, Christopher Stewart Thomas and her great grandson, Johnny Drake Morris. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, her church family and many friends.

Funeral services will be at Noon on Saturday, May 19th at the Sneads Grove United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Reginald Oxendine, Jr. Burial will follow the service in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Sneads Grove United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
